In the three years following Grimes’ breakthrough Visions album, there has been a lot of uncertainty about where the singer/songwriter/producer would go next. One thing was clear: she had no interest in making another Visions just to appease fans. On her new album Art Angels, Grimes explores a much more eclectic range of sounds, from hints of country (“Flesh Without Blood”) to aggressive electronic pop (“Kill V. Maim”). The constants throughout the project are memorable melodies, exciting production, and Grimes’ innate ability to avoid the norm.

The album has been released today on 4AD, and you can stream the entire thing on Spotify below.
