Chance The Rapper’s brother Taylor Bennett has been slowly making a name for himself this year thanks to a number of excellent songs, with “Broad Shoulders” standing out in particular. Now, after 12 months of hard work, Taylor has finally blessed us with his debut album, Broad Shoulders. Stepping into the spotlight, the Chicago rapper’s debut is one of the most interesting debuts of the year, showing he’s just as talented as the company he keeps.
Entirely sample-free, the album features appearances from the likes of Donnie Trumpet, Joey Purp, King L, and his brother, Chance The Rapper. It’s an expansive album that makes the best of Bennett’s talents, while also allowing enough space for the production, which is mostly handled by Detroit-born Ludlow, to shine in equal measure.
