XXXTENTACION turned a few heads when he shared a clip of a moody, acoustic new song on Twitter last week. Now, the full studio version has arrived with the release of "Garette's REVENGE."

A departure from the wild, aggressive sounds that made "Look At Me!" such a big hit, this actually follows in line with his history of making diverse, genre-defying music. Just last week, he tried his hand at pop music on a bright, Diplo-produced song called "Looking For A Star." Over a self-produced acoustic backdrop, "Garette's REVENGE" finds X focusing on melody, ending up with a song that should appeal to fans far outside of hip-hop. This is more alternative rock than rap.

Of course, since being released from jail after facing charges including aggravated assault, armed home invasion, and an allegation of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at the time, it's worth mentioning that XXXTENTACION is one of the most polarizing figures in music right now and every move he makes is rightfully under scrutiny. But the ever-evolving nature of his music has us interested and we feel he's a boundary-pushing artist worth covering. Listen to "Garette's REVENGE" below and continue for more about his genre-defying sound.
