"Every time I was in the studio for this project, I was in a good mood," Allan Kingdom told us last month about the creative process behind Peanut Butter Prince. "I was in a good space where I didn't really have to think too much. I could just let the music flow out."
After a releasing a series of one-off world music songs inspired by his parents' African roots, Peanut Butter Prince finds Kingdom striking a balance between this new direction and his early western-influenced style. In other words, it's exotic and digestible at once. A collaborative effort with producer Anthony Kilhoffer, the project is full of bright, danceable songs fitting of the summery photo that graces its cover.
