Time for more unreleased Kanye. Listening to old Kanye is kind of bittersweet. Don’t get me wrong, I like 808s and Heartbreaks, and I think Kanye needs to go in whatever direction he feels like going in. The second you start trying to recreate shit you’ve done in the past, you’re done. That being said, Kanye’s past work is so good. Something about the soul samples and the simplicity of it all. Something about hearing Kanye when he was only half-full of himself. I don’t know why so many of these songs never got chosen for records, but here are a couple more gems.

Kanye West – I Need To Know

Bonus: Kanye West – Better Than Yours Freestyle

I needed to included this freestyle because I love his flow on it. I heard this shit years ago and this line is still stuck in my head:

I’m Kan the Louis Vuitton Don, bought my mom a purse, now she Louis Vuitton mom! Still might throw on a little ‘lo on, they want me to stop go on, go on!
