The beginning of this song suggests something along the lines of “Sounds Of Silence” coming on. The build-up is subtle, but with Cranberries-esque vocals, it’s there, and you can tell something is coming. 1:53 in, the drums cement things. It’s like that point in Drake’s “We’ll Be Fine” when he says “well fuck, let’s get it then.” There’s no turning back from a moment like that in a song. By two minutes in, you’ve got a wall of vocals and handclaps, and it’s clear that this is no “Sounds Of Silence.” It’s better that way.
