As Bruce Springsteen aka The Boss was last year’s keynote speaker at SXSW, whoever had to take on the same responsibility this year had big shoes to fill. Of course, the ubiquitous Dave Grohl stepped up to the plate and delivered, recounting stories all the way from his teenage years to his near retirement. Grohl eloquently delivered a rousing and amusing speech through sharing personal anecdotes all the while making a point, which was that anyone can be successful and that musicians should to do what they love. Through “[finding] their voice,” Grohl proclaims that musicians will then be able “incite a riot or start a revolution, or save someone’s life, or become someone’s hero.” Watch Dave Grohl present his stirring keynote speech above.
