Kanye West didn’t have a great time with the paparazzi this July. First there was the fairly amusing run-in with a photographer during which Kanye ordered him to tell everybody to never to talk to anyone ever again, but then only a few days later another altercation saw things become a little more serious. As he was leaving LAX in Los Angeles on July 19, Kanye West got into an argument and then a physical confrontation with a paparazzo who claimed that West attempted to take his camera, and subsequently pressed a charge of attempted robbery.

This Friday, however, the L.A. County district attorney’s office decided not to file felony assault and attempted robbery charges against the rapper, specifically citing that there was insufficient evidence of “specific intent” to steal the camera, and that the victim did not sustain significant injuries. Good news for Kanye West, although the case will still be transferred to the city attorney for possible misdemeanor charges.
