As part of the big In Utero re-issue, footage from Nirvana‘s December 13, 1993 show at Seattle’s Pier 48 (dubbed the “Live and Loud” concert) will be officially released. The entire show will be included, but you’ll also get a look at behind-the-scenes moments and rehearsal footage. MTV has shared a couple of those clips, rehearsals of “Very Ape” and “Radio-Friendly Unit Shifter.”
While Nirvana is one of the biggest rock bands of all time and still relevant in today’s lackluster rock climate, they come from an era before Internet oversharing, and clips like these offer a rare glimpse into a side of Nirvana that fans didn’t often get to see.
