Danny Brown isn’t short on confidence, but he’s still not feeling like he’s getting the props he should be getting. “I still don’t feel like I have the respect I deserve,” he said in an interview with Huffington Post. “I’m the best rapper ever and I need to be respected.”

Brown’s working on his upcoming album, which is untitled for now. It’s a project that he says will showcase just why he’s the best MC. “I just got to back up on this next album, and consistently prove that I’m always the most witty, the most unpredictable.”

Brown’s next effort, a follow-up to 2013’s Oldis also meant to prove something else about his ability. “It’s probably going to be a shorter release than normal because I’m trying to glance perfection with this one,” Brown explains. “With previous projects, I had to branch out and show my range. But with this one, I feel like people know what I can do and what I’m capable of, so now it’s just time for me to show that I can make perfect.”

While you wait for Danny to announce more info about the upcoming album, check out the MC’s “Fire In The Booth” freestyle and watch the new video for “Smokin’ & Drinkin’.”
