Ahead of the release of his seventh studio album as Mount Eerie, Phil Elverum has shared a bizarre yet gorgeous visual for the album’s opening track. At around half the length of the album version of the track, the video for “Sauna” splices clips of Lynchian industrial environments with ghostly shots of nature. The video starts as standard Elverum fair, before suddenly cutting to two cowgirls in a barn. It’s just as surreal and otherworldly as the track itself. The almost thunderously brooding yet somehow serene track is taken from Sauna, which is due out February 3 via P.W. Elverum & Sun.
