We still aren’t quite sure who Goodbye Tomorrow are, nor do we care. “NoOne or NoThing” finds the secretive act linking with another Chicagoan, Lil Herb, for one of the month’s most dynamic efforts. The beat embraces change, introducing a handful of elements over an airy backdrop before collapsing into a volatile outro section complete with growling ad-libs.
It might not be the most predictable collaboration, but it works. Music gold often stems from the unexpected pairing of different talents, after all. The artists emphasize the need to stay true to yourself during the taxing pursuit of contentment and security.
