A pair of short stories well-suited for the silver screen unravel in Florence and The Machine’s “Queen of Peace / Long & Lost” video. The tale directly connects to that of previous Florence clips. The visual epic, just shy of ten minutes and split in two, takes place in both the close quarters of a family’s home and the pinnacles of Scotland’s towering cliffs.

Director Victor Haycock helps guide Welch herself through the film, which transpires across space and time. Coming-of-age conflicts and choreographed interactions match the sweeping horns of the first half, though the lurking pain overtakes things in the later segments.
