In perhaps one of the most unfortunate moves in recent management history, Adele has revealed that her management took over her Twitter because of her history of drunk tweets. During a BBC special that airs later this month, an audience member asked whether it was true that she doesn’t post her own tweets, and Adele unfortunately confirmed that it isn’t her actually posting the tweets on her Twitter account, which has 23.8 million followers.
She told the BBC, “I’m not a drinker any more, but when Twitter first came out I was drunk tweeting and nearly put my foot in it a quite a few times.” She went on to explain that it eventually forced her management to step in, saying, “my management decided that you have to go through two people and then it has to be signed off by someone. But they’re all my tweets. No one writs my tweets. They just post them for me.”
Adele’s Twitter has been scrubbed of her early Twitter days drunk tweets, so don’t expect anything badly spelled if you’re to go through all of her older tweets. So while we don’t get the fully unfiltered Adele Twitter really deserves, it is definitely her behind tweets like this one.
