In 2015, artists had to get creative in order to make money. When record sales weren’t doing it, other more unique approaches were explored. For some, this just meant more touring and merch. For 2 Chainz, it meant putting together a 70-person team and launching a viral line of holiday sweaters.
The sweaters included the now-famous dabbin’ Santa design, and the holiday merch made around $2 million, according to Forbes. A lot of the money made went to 2 Chainz’s T.R.U. Foundation, a non-profit organization set up to give back to the community around the Southside of Atlanta, Georgia. Props to 2 Chainz.
