Taped before the unfortunate Irving Plaza shooting at T.I.’s concert last night, Anderson .Paak and his band The Free Nationals brought out the Atlanta rapper for an energetic performance of Malibu standout “Come Down.”
After flying around the stage for much of the song, .Paak returned to his drum kit as T.I. took the stage at the 3:00 mark and added a Black Lives Matter inspired verse to the song. The set earned an excited response from Jimmy Fallon and a standing ovation from the crowd.
After the shooting later in the night, .Paak took to Twitter to share his thoughts, which were later deleted (via Pitchfork): “Such a weird feeling man. My dude TIP the free nats and I bodied Fallon but some asshole fucked up the whole night at Irving plaza.”
