Back in 2013 when Kanye West‘s Yeezus dropped, we reported on the sample at the end of “New Slaves”. The music is from Hungarian band Omega’s song “Gyöngyhajú Lány,” and Kanye had gotten clearance to use it for his song. However, now it doesn’t seem as if everything is still copacetic.
According to TMZ, composer Gabor Presser is suing West stating that though he gave permission for West to use the track, it was only under the conditions that a formal deal be laid out. Gabor says he was only sent a $10,000 check, which he never cashed. Now, Gabor is seeking $2.5 million in damages and copyright infringement.
