The upcoming Tupac biopic, All Eyez on Me, has had a pretty difficult history to say the least. The film was initially announced all the way back in 2011 when Morgan Creek production confirmed they were working on a film about Tupac Shakur’s life, with a tentative title of Tupac. The film has gone through countless drafts and has even switched directors around three times already, but the film finally went into production late last year in Atlanta, Georgia with music video director Benny Boom at the helm.

Starring Demetrius Shipp, Jr as Tupac, Jamal Woolard as The Notorious B.I.G., and Danai Gurira of The Walking Dead fame as Afeni Shakur, the film is finally on the horizon. Following Tupac from his early childhood all the way up to his death in September 1996, the film has now received its first official trailer and it certainly looks promising. While the trailer doesn’t show too much, it does offer us at the very least a look at Demetrius as Tupac.

Demetrius really does look the part, so there’s a chance this could go a lot better than many initially thought. The film is due for release later this year on November 11, so expect hear a lot more about the film ahead of its impending release.
