It looks like The Weeknd has a spectacular week ahead of him.
His latest album Starboy, which was released on November 25, is projected to have an impressive chart debut. According to HITS Daily Double, the album is currently estimated to sell between 350,000 and 400,000 copies during its opening week, allowing it to easily cinch the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Starboy is projected to move slightly fewer copies than The Weeknd's previous album Beauty Behind The Madness, which opened with 412,000 units.
The album, which includes collaborations with Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, and Future, is currently number one on the iTunes chart in 80 countries. The Daft Punk-assisted title track has peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Starboy's individual tracks have been performing well on the Spotify Viral 50 chart.
The album's chart position and opening sales figure will be revealed on Sunday, December 4. Check out The Weeknd's recent interview with Zane Lowe here, and catch him on his Legend of the Fall tour in 2017.
