About a year before I started Pigeons & Planes, I had no job and no idea what I was going to do next. I wanted to work in music, but I had no clue where to begin. I moved back in with my parents, worked a job I absolutely hated, and felt completely stuck. During this time, my dad said something that I still think about sometimes: "In five years you'll be doing something that you can't even imagine right now."

It's been almost a decade since he said that, and so far he's been right. I couldn't have imagined that starting a music blog would turn into a job. And when that happened, I couldn't have imagined that eventually I'd get to build a team, work with artists, throw concerts, make merch, and shoot videos. At that point, I was happy to just post about new songs and videos and interact with people who loved music as much as I did.

The thing I'm realizing now is that the more we accomplish, the more we can imagine. What I imagine for Pigeons & Planes is that we aren't a website anymore; we are a brand. I imagine P&P TV, P&P Records, P&P Festival, and P&P Radio. I imagine that one day, some kid at the No Ceilings festival won't even be aware that once upon a time, Pigeons & Planes was a blog.

Music discovery and curation will always be at the heart of what we do, but we're going to start doing a lot more in 2017. We are going to try new things, take some big risks, and hopefully surprise ourselves. I'm so excited to bring these things to life and continue to push the evolution of Pigeons & Planes, but I'm even more excited about the things we can't even imagine right now.

Thank you for supporting Pigeons & Planes, and happy new year.
